Yesterday, after school, all the sec one guides had to board a bus which would take us to Bishan where the 'Guides Centre' or whatever it is called to buy our Guides necessities! We were very excited as we would finally be getting our official Guides uniform and other necessities. We paid a total of $90 for the whole set of necessities but we would get back $40 in June or July because of a subsidy from MOE. It consists of the full Guides uniform, a polo tee, patrol emblem, belt with official buckle, whistle, cord and etcetera.
There, the three sec threes who came along told us not to step on the huge Guides trefoil cemented on the floor. We were told not to step on it to respect it. Then, we were divided into groups of ten as the store is too small for all of us to get in and find what our sizes were for the Guides uniform, hat, polo tee and belt. Of course, I was with Meena, Lois and Huda as without them, the Guides sessions would not be that enjoyable. We have bonded really well due to the Malacca Guides learning journey! We took a long time to try them on and so, the sec three who came along with all the sec ones nagged us to be quick. The rest who were outside had singing sessions with two other sec threes who came along too.
After Mdm Zetty, the only teacher who came with us, had purchased all of the necessities of everyone, the sec threes gave the necessities out to all of us and we packed them into our bags. Soon after, we were dismissed at around 3.45. The four of us, Meena, Lois Huda and I decided to have lunch at a McDonalds outlet located at Junction 8. We were extremely excited to have lunch together as it was our first ever outing! We enjoyed this experience tremendously. We hope to have more of such outings again!
